Dr.-Ing. Sheikh Atif Bilal Aslam worked as guest scientist with the UTB-MENA project team in Spring and Summer of 2018. At the time of this cooperation, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of City and Regional Planning (DCRP), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Pakistan. His main area of research revolves around urban development and urban transport planning. His other scientific interests focus on sustainability and international migration. He graduated from the same university with M.Sc. (2006) and B.Sc. (2002) degrees in City and Regional Planning. Later, as a HEC/DAAD Scholar, he completed his Ph.D. studies (2015) from TU Dortmund, Germany. He was engaged with UTB-MENA project of TU Berlin in a capacity of a collaborating researcher where he is jointly investigating the topics of residential self-selection, job-housing balance, urban sprawl and cyclability in Pakistani cities. Overall, he has more than 15 years of diversified experience of working with academic institutions, federal and provincial government departments, international donor agency, research-based institutes, international and local private companies, and land developers as both a regular employee and urban planning consultant.
